Although a specific opening date for the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa has not been determined, the announcement that the company is recruiting for 600 roles at the venue indicates that the launch is imminent.
Media reports indicate that Hard Rock Ottawa is organizing job fairs to recruit for different roles at the establishment.
The company is recruiting for a variety of positions including customer service, table games, marketing, security, slots, retail, surveillance, food and beverage, and hotel services, ranging from entry-level to senior management roles.
The job fairs will be held on May 6, 7, and 22 at the Rideau Carleton Casino. A representative from Hard Rock informed CTV News that an announcement regarding the opening date for the hotel and casino will be made soon.
Hard Rock, established as a cafe in London in 1971 that exchanged food for guitars autographed by rock legends, now boasts a collection of more than 88,000 items of music memorabilia. Certain artifacts will be showcased throughout the new Ottawa facility.
The Rideau Carleton Casino & Raceway – among Ottawa’s longest-standing entertainment spots – is undergoing renovations to become a hotel and casino hub.
Phase One of the $350 million initiative launching this spring will include a luxury hotel with 150 rooms and 22 suites, the Hard Rock Live theater that seats 1,800, and a larger casino area featuring 1,500 slot machines, 40 table games, a distinct Baccarat room, and high-limit slots. Ten restaurants and bars will operate under Hard Rock’s music-inspired theme. That will be guided by the famous guitar statue by the hotel entrance.
In February, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa declared a partnership with the Ottawa Charge of the Professional Women’s Hockey League, making Hard Rock the team's sole physical casino partner.
"This is more than a new casino. It’s a catalyst for growth that will ripple across tourism, entertainment, and employment,” said Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe.
